Photographer and journalist. Magazine editor.

World traveller, cruiseship enthusiast, dog lover.

I studied photography at Plymouth College of Art & Design and the University of Westminster, and worked as a photographer for 10 years (including spending 7 years as a cruise ship photographer) before joining Amateur Photographer magazine in 1994. I became editor of What Digital Camera in 2002, and Amateur Photographer in 2013. I have also written and edited several books on photography.

I live in Brighton, UK with my wife, two kids, two dogs and two cats.

Founded in 1884 Amateur Photographer is the world's oldest consumer photography magazine, and the world's only weekly.

It is the UK's biggest-selling journal dedicated to photography.
